OUR COMPANY
Joe Smith, Jr., founder and owner of 5S Cattle Co. has been involved with farming since a very young age. His grandfather, Lloyd Gragert taught him how to drive a tractor when he was 5 and shortly thereafter, he began earning money as a farmhand for his grandparents. He bought his first cattle in 1984 and rented his first farmland in 1986. 5S Cattle Co. was founded in 2016.
We started our company running black and black baldy cows bred to registered Ultra Black bulls. Over the past 4 years we have changed over half of our cow herd to registered Charolais cattle. We started our Charolais herd by purchasing our first cows from J&J Beef Genetics out of Orlando, Oklahoma and Hilltop Charolais out of Ninnekah, Oklahoma. Most recently we have purchased bulls from Nipp Carolais out of Wilson, Oklahoma and Zehnder Waage Partnership out of Minnesota. We have been increasing the quality of our herd by Aling some of our cows using Pure Beef Genetics and ST Genetics.
